Power of Prayer

The doctors figured out why Laurence's fever would not budge when his CAT scan showed pneumonia. They debated among themselves what meds to give Laurence that would have the greatest impact and least side effects. The first antibiotic dose took effect very quickly and his body responded positively. His fever is finally gone. There are more antibiotics and tests to come.

The doctors explained that we all have bacteria or viruses in the body. A healthy body is able to fight off the bacteria and maintain balance. Chemotherapy does a great job of killing the cancer cells but it also weakens the body's immune system. Laurence's infection is not necessarily new but the body doesn't have the ability to fight it off.

Praise God for prayer! Prayer is the one healing treatment that works regardless of history, symptoms or dosage. You can never have too much and it doesn't matter what kind or when it is delivered. It is written in Philippians: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
